These are just several reasons why it is important to consume fruits and vegetables regularly. In fact, they should be used as a replacement for many of the common, unhealthy snacks we tend to eat during the course of the day. A very small bag of potato chips, usually that little two ounce variety, will contain about 150 calories. Let’s face it, that little bag of chips is not going to satisfy our hunger, and all it really does is jack up our calorie count. Make a smarter choice and eat a small bag of carrot sticks or eat an apple instead. Not only will you eat fewer calories, you will get a greater nutritional benefit.
